Morelei is
Mary M.D. Graham and
Lorelei d’Andriole

The two met while as artists-in-residence at Vermont Studio Center in the summer 2026. This performance was done during the reception for the “For the Time Being” group exhibition at VSC on July 21st. This performance features Graham on Voice and Delay Pedal and d’Andriole on percussion and explores themes of anti-racism and imperialism. d’Andriole sourced two vintage rack toms from a nearby antique store made by the Japanese company, Majestic, and interacted with them with a series of tools including Graham’s used paint brushes and pallet knives. By the end of the performance, d’Andriole had ripped a hole into one of the drums by exerting great force into the drum with her fingers, arms, and eventually her leg. Graham and d’Andriole were inspired by recently attending Bread and Puppet which aligned with their mutual values.
